Help! I need gift ideas for a bridal shower this weekend….
Permalink Closed

I am attending a bridal shower this weekend for an old high school friend and I am so confused as to what to get the bride as a gift! Since this isnt a bachelorette party I figured lingerie was completely out of the question but she hasnt registered anywhere and already lives with her fiancé and so their home is already furnished and set up.What the heck do I get her!?Since Ive lost touch with her I have no idea what kind of things shes into. Ive never been to her home so I have no idea what her décor taste is like.

I am so confused!

I would probably just get her a gift card to Target or something. It's hard when the couple already has everything.

Yeah, a GC to some equal-opportunity store like Target is probably as good as you are going to get--seeing that you don't know her well.

I think I would have to tell myself that I'm not going to be in the running for the "best gift award" this time around, if I were in your shoes.

Maybe take this opportunity to enjoy not having to worry too much about a gift's impact.  I like those times when gift-giving can be somewhat easy--but you have to have the ability to not care too much for a moment or two.

Have you checked to see if they have a registry at any of the usuals - Macys, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc.? That might be helpful for a gift - or as suggested a gift card is always useful!

I know this is horribly cliche, but what about some Bath & Body Works type stuff? Everyone likes those, and with a honeymoon to look forward to she might be thankful for a little pampering to get herself stunning and picture-ready for the big day. I know that's not helpful or original, but I think that's what I would do. Or maybe a VS gift card - it's not a bachelorette party so you might not want to show up with sexy lingerie, but a gift card is tame and you know she'll use it to buy some sexy stuff she likes!

Could you make them a few special Christmas ornaments for their first Christmas? It's thoughtful, but doesn't really have to fit their decor.

Their names, wedding date, etc....

?

I got some nightwear/lingerie for my friend's bridal shower, and that seemed to be what everyone else got her too.

If that seems inappropriate, what about a cozy throw for the couch, or a nice warm bathrobe?
