Fall Trends?

As funny as it sounds I was just thinking about this the other day when I was looking at the maternity site A Pea in the Pod cause they are previewing some fall stuff already. Looks like lots of metallic materials, purples and teals, kind of a sophisicated almost 60's feel but not quite mod. At least that 's the stuff they are showing.

The newest Harper's Bazaar already has fall runway fashion, so you can get some cues from that.

I typically view collections on style.com for ideas. From what I saw, all black seems to be making a comeback. also seeing velvet, lace, metallics, patents, and fringe. oh, and thigh high boots too...

smaller bags, frame bags, cross-body bags, deep blues and purples. I saw an olive/blue combo that I loved...

I've also started thinking about fall. Crazy. I'm always thinking of the opposite season of what it is. :p

oh, and how could I forget empire and swing silhouettes? those too. a lot of neutral color - grays, browns, greens - the blues and purples are deeply saturated hues, not brights.

Please do. I have already been thinking about fall myself, but it really doesn't cool down here until November so I am going to try to restrain myself (except for birthday shopping) until the day after Thanksgiving. LOL!

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Thank goodness! I love the big bag trend on everyone but me. I feel ridiculous carrying a huge purse and prefer things medium to small sized.

we just showed holiday for our junior line - lots of glitz, mini dresses
for contemporary in fall we showed lots of sleeve detail, grey, jewel-toned charmeuse tops, slinky knits, lots and lots of dresses in cashmere

meh, i think fall will be a lot of the same things. the girls are designing spring 08 now (which shows in September) and the silhouettes are very 30's and glamourous. I was just thinking how we needed to switch up our silhouettes- too many mini dresses, volume, etc. nowadays.

Just got back from market - Brief summary of what everyone was showing -

JEWEL tones - Hot pink, Turqoise, Emerald green, Mustard yellow
Black worn as a base

DRESSES - tons of mini dresses and shift style dresses. BIG BIG BIG for fall. Mostly in bright prints and colors and also in silk fabrics like silk.

Trouser jeans - Hardly anyone showed straight leg and NO ONE showed skinny jeans (also no leggings were showed)

MINIS- mini skirts, dresses, etc.

PATENT LEATHER- accessories. Handbags mostly(not so many belts)

Sequins - (not my fav) tons of sequins for holiday this year. Very Glam.

Tunic dresses - To be worn with boots or wide belts.

Dolman Sleeves - still saw quite a few of this body fit.

Oh yeah! We saw lots of that body shape for fall. Really the most formfitting pant I saw was bootcut and it just got bigger from there. Trousers, wide leg, high waist etc were the new "it" trend in pants and jeans.

It's incredible how quickly trends with pants are changing these days after what was such a long stretch (for me at least) just with your classic bootcut.
