So, I was just on my company's intraweb, and on the home page, right under Company Wide News, was an article headlined, "Honoring Gay and Lesbian Pride Month." The article stated that June was gay and lesbian pride month, and that all diversity heritage months are recognized and celebrated by the company, and they shared information about pride events that are happening in cities where we have offices, etc.
I work for a Fortune 20 company, and I just think that it's really cool that they're recognizing gay pride in the same way they recognized Women's History Month and Black History Month. I really value diversity and tolerance and I'm glad that the company is committed enough to recognize it publicly.
That's all, I just wanted to share, especially after seeing the editorial that Carrie posted. I'm so sad for that man :(
That's awesome! My company would never do that...we don't do anything for any other awareness months, but I know that Gay Pride would NEVER be celebrated here. Sad.
