I'm curious what the gas prices are like in other states. I just watched on the news how Michigan is in the top five states with the highest gas prices. Probably since we have no public transportation (thanks to the automotive companies) we get hit the hardest as there's no choice but to drive here. I've been getting my gas at costco, but a local reasonably priced station is at 3.59 for regular, and it's expected to go up another .30 as a gift of gouge to all consumers to enjoy over Memorial Day weekend. I'm really starting to get pissed over this price gouging and would love to hear a believable explanation.
Anyway... What the price for regular in your state?

Ugh. Let's NOT talk about gas prices, I'm in Austin, TX. I had to get some gas today, from Shell, and it was $2.99/regular unleaded, but I have seen it in other parts of Austin for $3.05, $3.15 for regular unleaded - this just SUCKS on all levels.

It's frickin' $3.39 here in my college city in Iowa. The state has reached an all-time high now too, which is completely mind blowing to me; We're usually on the lower end of gas prices in the country!

I hate the automotive companies for doing the same to Los Angeles in the 1940/50.
That said, gas is $3.57 in Culver City/Los Angeles. BF and I are trying to get a show that's closer to home to cut on the gas money.
I paid $3.59 today for regular, I am in Socal near San Diego.
Just pisses me off, that we are paying this much. My DH has to get gas every other day because he has a long drive to work. This month were going to end up spending $1200 on gas for our 2 cars. Just FREAKING WRONG.
I don't have a car, but I live in Chicago which has the fine distinction of having the highest gas prices in the country. I just looked it up online and they seem to range between 3.75-4.09 in the city limits. Luckily we have public transportation. Unluckily, our transit system is a mess.
Gas everywhere around me in Kentucky shot up to $3.49-ish today. BF told me about one gas station by his house for $3.09, so I took a special trip there. Apparently everyone had heard about it, because by the time I got there they were all out of regular and selling the silver gas for the regular price....thankfully I was able to fill up my tank with silver for $3.09! But I am NOT looking forward to the weekend. I have a graduation party to go to 100 miles away! Ugh!
traverlgirl - I know what you mean! Now I would go to the ends of the earth for $2.50, and a few years ago I vowed I'd never support any gas station that went over $2
What is going on???

About 3.70 for regular. I'm between Chicago and Milwaukee. DH and I have started carpooling and have even moved DD to a daycare that's directly on the way to work so we can all ride together. That's the only way we can afford it!
