Hi all,

I could use a little shopping ban support again and I wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat?

I've been loving all the new stuff that's out for Spring and I'm a little out of control with it.  I "rewarded" myself for my new job way more than I had planned and I've probably spent more on clothes in the last 6 weeks than I have in the last year!  I'm getting a big vacation payout from my old job, so it's not a big deal, but I need to take it easy.

So, my plan is to take a break from buying clothes, accessories and unnecessary beauty products until the end of June.

If anyone else wants to join in support, I'll post again in a week to keep us on track.

Me, me!

Since starting school again, I need to start curbing my spending. I have gone way overboard too. I need someone to keep me in check!

HA!  That sounds like a fabulous reason to save, IMO.

You may have already thought of this, but don't forget that you'll have to check your wine as luggage if you fly home.  Most of the bigger wineries or wine stories have boxes that are perfect for checking.  I totally forgot this when I was in the bay area in February, and I ended up having to scramble to fit my wine in my luggage.

I'm in! I've drastically cut my CC debt and I've been paying EVERYTHING in cash. It feels so good! However, I can only keep it up if I go on a ban. I can only buy stuff for father's day, and summer stuff for DD and real necessities.

Jumping on the bandwagon here. I am on a strict ban with the exception of my hair color appointment (of which I am in desperate need) and gifts for upcoming birthdays.

I'm on a ban as of Monday, although I did buy a few things from Target (but that's only because I returned other stuff). I am super poor now w/ the new job and so I need to be really frugal for awhile until I have a bit of a nest egg. I'm trying to not eat out, not get starbucks, and not buy ANY clothes.

I've cut down a LOT in the last few weeks, and after my daughter's party, I'm cutting back more for at least another 2 weeks.  I have three big trips planned with my girls this summer, plus my husband was just back in the states for 2 weeks and we spent a TON of money travelling, going out to eat and spending 2 nights at a nice resort.  I'm going to Colorado for 6 nights (and kenneling my dogs, which is $$$).  I come back home for 2 nights and fly to Oklahoma to visit my hubby who will be back in the states taking some course in South Oklahoma (Lawton), so the girls and I will spend 4 nights with him, then he heads back to Korea.  Off to Dallas a few weeks later to visit the in-laws.  Plus swimming lessons, new school clothes, school tuition, my hubby's new Harley... so much to do and so much money to spend!  ARGH!  No clothes, shoes, or anything frivilous until we get caught up again.  Summer is so freakin' expensive!

I'm not doing a total ban, but I would like to cut back. I think I only need a couple of basic tees and tanks this summer which I'll probably get from Target, and I'm trying to limit myself to one new swimsuit.

Absolutely NO MORE SHOES.

I need to join in again, b/c I've been going a lil' crazy w/the shopping here lately in the past few months. My closets are already jam packed, so sure. I'll join in. :) I'll just suffer, and look at all the clothes I haven't worn.....(yet).

Yes!  Since I lost my job I need to be careful with what I spend until I find another job.

I'm a little late to this, but I need to join! Plus I thought bumping it up might let everyone take inventory of how they're doing! wink.gif

I have been buying WAAAYYY too much. So I'm going on a "ban" until I graduate (July 9th). I seem to not really be accepting the fact that I'm about to move and I'm going to be super poor very quickly.

The only things I'll allow myself until then:

1.bikini bottoms. I have a black tankini top coming in the mail sometime next week and I need to get some fun, cheapy Target bottoms when it comes in. Hopefully it'll look okay with some of my random bikini bottoms I have lying around since it is solid black, but I do know my booty has gotten substantially larger since last year and that might not be a possibility. I haven't tried them on yet.

2. I'm picking up two things from the tailor next week, I obviously have to pay for those

3. I just put in an order for a custom pendant from an Etsy seller, so I'll obviously have to pay for that too

4. two bras I've been waiting to get for a while. I've been waiting for them to go on sale, but now I'm in complete and utter need of a new black bra and I can't hold out any longer. I may get another nude bra, too, but hopefully I can hold out. I'll just have to see.

Hmmm.... so that's not a complete *ban* but if I manage to make it through July 9th only buying those things, that will be a real accomplishment considering how much I've been spending lately! I'm deleting all of the ebay alerts I get until then so I'm not tempted anymore.

I do have some free junk coming in the mail related to my freelance job, so that will hopefully help me hold out also :)

How is everyone else doing on their ban/redux plans?
