which necklace style for my MIL?
Permalink Closed

we didn't get together with my MIL for mother's day yet because hub has been out of town. i bought her a vintage ice cube necklace because she had admired a similar one i made with vintage beads, but i have some leftover beads and am wondering if i should combine them to make a necklace more similar to mine (but not exactly the same). thoughts? (and if age/tastes make a difference, she is 55, dresses very classic and elegantly, but is definitely hip)

here are pics for reference!

the necklace i bought her:

the necklace i made from almost the exact same beads, plus some:

TIA!

I think the one you bought for her is better. The gold beadwork seems more sophisticated (not that you aren't, darling!) and appropriate for a 55yo, even if she is hip!

i too prefer the one you bought- for her.  its more age appropriate.  and sweet because it shows you remembered her compliment.

I agree.........I like yours too, but I think given the age factor, she may prefer the first one. :)
