I ordered these about a week ago, they are cute, but too big and a little painful too, so I have to send them back for a smaller pair, BUT in the meantime I found a similar pair..and now I don't know if I should keep these:

or get one of these instead:

HELP!!!

Ditto smile.gif.  Unless the part on the first pair that was painful won't be fixed by sizing, of course!

I actually like the second pair better. Mostly because thongs are too painful for me to wear but also because the first pair looks a bit masculine to me for some reason.

if the first pair are going to be uncomfortable and you are not going to want to wear them, get the second pair

ms. shanzie, what was painful about the first pair? They're super cute, and I was considering ordering a pair for myself.

I don't know if this is where they were painful...but from everything I've heard about Birks, they are painful or uncomfortable at first. That ridge part where your toes are can be a bit odd to wear, at least until they start to comform to your foot. The sides of the Birks can also be a bit odd too since they aren't flat but are rounded/curved to fit your foot. Is that what was painful?? If the ridges didn't fall in the correct part...I can totally see that being painful.

I do like the first pair better, but I like thongs much much better than I like slides. Neither looks too granola too me, especially if you aren't wearing a floor-length skirt and smelling of patchouli!

Just

Just the thong between the foot was SO stiff. And I wear thong sandals all summer...I am sure it would feel better after a few wearings, and also if they wern't so big. I usually wear a 38 or a 7.5-8 in US, but I had to go down to the 37 in these. I just ordered both pairs, so I will let you know how they feel when they arrive again. I ordered them from softmoc.com..they are on sale :) With free shipping....
