Girls, I could use your help! I am trying to brainstorm some ideas on different promos or events to do in the boutique.
Does anyone have a fav boutique event/promo that you have attentded or an idea for one? ( I swear I am running out of ideas latly :) Any ideas appreciated , thanks for helping me!
I went to one that had food/drinks catered and all items were by one get one half off (lesser or equal value). They also had a fashion show which I thought was great.

There's a local boutique in Austin that always does Love on the Lawn with a local girl band/singer. The boutique is called Love, and they'll provide drinks, music, maybe some small foodstuffs. And then you can shop at a time when the boutique isn't usually open and listen to great music. It's always fun.
I don't know if this is appropriate for a clothing boutique, but I always thought it would be fun to go to a wine tasting at one. I'd go to a wine tasting at a clothing store even if I'd never set foot in the store before.

A sparkling white-wine tasting would be fun (might want to avoid red wine in case someone drops/spills wine)
Maybe something like -- white wine, white after Memorial Day -- celebration of white clothes/wine... just brainstorming

I love the fashion show idea. Then people will be able to see pieces as part of whole outfits that they may not have been to wild about before, and end up buying the whole outfit!
If there's some sort of charity slant to it, I bet you could get a bunch more press for events.

A boutique near me does manicure/martini nights right inside the boutique. It's a fun way to get people to check it out, and once they come and start drinking, they're more inclined to buy things
You could do a clothing drive, where if people bring in say, a grocery bag filled with gently worn clothes that they get 15% off their purchase (or whatever percentage you choose). Then you could donate the clothes to Goodwill or someplace like that.
You could still do a wine tasting or fashion show of event on top of this, but donating to charity is always a good thing and it's good for a business' image, too. You could send out two press releases about the event, one before (to announce it) and one after (to announce how much clothing was donated and what a great event it was). Oh, and take plenty of pictures and maybe you'll get a picture in the paper, too.

Have you done any 'shop for a cause' stuff - where a percentage of sales on a certain day goes to a charity? Or even a local school, library, disaster relief fund, breast cancer, etc.
You can tie this into an "awareness week/month" or something too.
Personally I really only make an effort to attend an event that provides a discount for me the shopper. But I do like the idea of involving something charity geared, that's just good PR.

A charity clothing drive would make me so excited to shop in your store in general as well as on that day (especially if it involved a discount!). Also, my friends and I were just looking for a nearby clothing drive in our area because it's that time of year when we feel like getting rid of stuff!
