I love Bare Minerals and totally recommend it. I think the starter kit is a great way to get introduced to the products and the DVD is really helpful. I only wear mineral makeup now and when I wore 'regular' liquid foundation a while ago just for a change, it felt heavy, thick, it didn't blend as well and the coverage was nowhere near as good.

I love there products. I have been using them for about 3 years now, and I think it has greatly improved the condition of my skin.

I would go to a sephora though first to try them out in person. There are so many colors and I think it is hard to pick one at first based on the online color charts.

Tritto (quattro?) to the other posts. I have used their products for two years now and they're really great. I got my starter kit at Sephora.

I like this stuff, I just wish it wasn't so expensive.  I am currently trying Physicians Formula as a cheaper alternative and it isn't nearly as good.

I like BE. I have their foundation, tinted mineral veil, eyeshadow and a couple of brushes. I rotate the mineral foundation with tinted moisturizer, or liquid foundation depending on my needs for the day. My BE foundation has lasted about a year because of this so the money may be worth it. If you want to save $ I would buy a foundation and flawless face brush to get started.

i tried it years ago & found that it irritated my skin.  i loved the coverage, but my skin felt itchy while using it.

i just tried Laura Mercier's mineral foundation & having good luck w/it.  the color selection is limited, but it provides great coverage w/out looking cakey. smile

I used BE through the worst of my acne-prone years and I still use it when I think my skin is acting up. I love the coverage. It's pretty easy to apply once you get the hang of the buffing.

I got the starter kit and liked almost everything in it, but I prefer to buff the BE in with a kabuki brush. Also, the bronzer "warmth" that's in the kit is some pigmented stuff! I still have it and it's been a very long time since I got the starter ki.

Thanks for asking this question.  I have been wondering about it.  I tried the Neutrogena mineral makeup and hated it.  Is the coverage better on Bare Minerals?

I would love to try this because even though I love my Chanel foundation, I have acne prone skin and am wondering if this might be better. I haven't been to a makeup counter and had my makeup done in ages and I've kind of forgotten how it works. Would it be kosher to go to a Sephora and ask to try this stuff out and not make a purchase? (And then go back and purchase if I like it?) Do I tip? (How much?)
