i have a friend (female) and a sister-in-law who just finished grad school and i'd like to give a simple but thoughtful gift.
any thoughts or ideas?
i'm planning on making my SIL a set of personalized stationery. she's a big letter and card writer so i know she'll appreciate it and use it. i might change my idea if i get a better suggestion though. she's getting the stationery regardless.
i need a few other ideas for my friend. a group of us will be getting together at our house for dinner and a movie and i'm planning on making cupcakes to celebrate the occassion. we made dinner / movie plans before she told us that she finished school so i'm just trying to add a little something on to the evening to congratulate her. i don't know if everyone will have a gift for her so i don't want it to be too big of a deal just a little something.
If they are starting new jobs, how about a business card case? I did a quick check, and you can get nice leather ones in conservative or fun colors (like orange or pink) for less than $20. A color that coordinated with the stationary would be cool too.

Just an FYI if you go this route: My bf bought me an adorable pink leather Kate Spade business card holder and the leather got totally dirty and nasty in my purse. Unfortunately, it picks up every color it rubs against.
