I took it.

Here was my thinking:

I had a job lined up before I even graduated college, and literally started the Monday after I graduated. I didn't have more than a weekend off.

Since then, I've just been doing the responsible thing and trying to move up and up.

I don't even know if I want to do marketing, I don't like desk jobs, I'm not sure I can imagine myself doing what I'm currently doing for the next 40 years.

I'm basically going to take this job as a leap of faith and a chance to just do something totally different and FUN. I don't know if it will lead to a different career or if it will lead to anything. I just need to do this for my own mental health and while I'm still young and don't have a lot of responsibilities (house, kids, etc.).

If it doesn't work out, there will always be office/marketing jobs and I have the rest of my life to do those jobs.

Plus, every single time I went in the store I felt SO HAPPY. I love the two girls I'd be working with and I just felt energized and alive after walking out.

So, I put in my two weeks yesterday and I start on the 21st! Yay!

 Yeah! Congrats :)

Work can be fun, and not everyone is blessed enough to actually like what they do. I hope this helps you love what you do!

One of the best parts for me of working in my store is getting to make great relationships with customers and help people feel good about themselves. So I hope you will get to have that same expierence!!

YAY! Congrats! I think you made the right decision, too. It sounds like a fun opportunity, even if it is less money. Money isn't everything. I'm a firm believer that you need to do what makes you happy, even if it isn't the most lucrative job in the world. And who knows where this opportunity will take you? So, good for you! Keep us posted on how you like it there.

Yay!! It definitely sounds like you made the right decision. It may seem like the less "responsible" choice, but if it improves your happiness it is the best thing you could do.

Good luck!!! It takes a lot of guts to change career paths, but it seems like with your marketing background, you will be able to do a lot for this boutique. It might just give you the experience to get into marketing in the fashion industry!
