sympathy card question!

i just found out my first boyfriend's mother died on friday. we dated about a year, and i was good friends with his sister in high school. i haven't seen either of them in ten years, but i would like to send my condolences. would that be weird? also, i don't know their current address, but i do know their mom's former address...or maybe i can send the card to the funeral home? the visitation was today...

I think it's thoughtful. I'm not really sure where/who you're supposed to send the card too, though.
