I'm no ebay expert, but I'm pretty successful with selling my stuff on ebay. Here are a few tips I can think of right now:

*Take several pictures of the item with different views (front, back, close-up, etc). Make sure background is plain and simple. I like to use a white sheet sometimes. I personally don't like to see stuff laid out on carpets. Clear pictures with good lighting is very important.

*Have a Paypal account. Some buyers only buy this way.

*Make sure you give tons of details about the item you are selling. (size, measurements, brand, etc.)

*Have a realistic starting price and realistic shipping cost. I usually use USPS and go to their website and calculate shipping. I always start my bids at 99 cents no matter what I'm selling. It's more appealling to other bidders when an item has a ton of bids.

*Another pointer: Include a gallery photo. Many people don't bother to check out an auction without one.

I definitely second the gallery photo. If you do a subtitle, also, those are searchable so you can enter more keywords if you can't fit them all in the regular title.

If you can find the manufacturer's picture of the dress on a model, I think that would help to. Or a picture of it on you. I hate buying things that are layed out on the floor or even just hung on a hanger because I can't really see the shape of it. If I'm seriously considering something, I'll usually go google the thing for myself, but I know a lot of people wouldn't go to that trouble. If you know the style name of the dress, definitely put that in the title. If someone is specifically looking for your dress, they will use the style name and will miss it if you don't have it up.
