Are skinny jeans still going on strong?
I just had a baby, so for that reason I don't have skinny jeans. But know after 4 months i'm back to my size, and just wanted to know if it's worth investing in a pair of skinny jeans. Or if i should just buy a cheap version of these.
Advice please

I personally thought they were horrible in the beginning, but they ended up looking cute on some women. I never bought a pair because they seem so unflattering on me, but if you can pull it off...... I don't think they will be as popular down the road. I would invest in a great pair of straight leg, or bootcut jeans, that you know will be flattering and "in" for years to come. HTH, Congrats on the baby!

I think they'll be around even this fall, especially for tucking into boots. I also think they are good for spring w/flats.

Congratulations on the baby! What did you have, boy or girl?

I do believe the skinny jeans has already peaked, but if you really want some why not get an inexpensive pair?

I think they've peaked already, but it would definitely be worth it to get a nicer pair to tuck into boots and such.

I personally think they're still going pretty strong.  Like FP said - I think girls will still rock them tucked into boots this fall and w/flats this spring.  If you're looking for an inexpensive, cute pair, definitely go to Express.  I have 3 pairs from there and none of them cost me more than $30!

I second that.  Definitely go to Express. I got mine from there and I love them.  Here is a 15% off coupon for any purchase from Express.  I think it may have already been posted, but here it is again:

i think im done buying skinnies (i.e. really tapered/stovepipe styles) but i will still definitely go for straight-leg styles...i love the flats w/straight leg look + as said before, theyre great for tucking into boots. i have a pair of gap straight legs that fit really well and are super comfy.

I hate to tell all of you this, but not only are they staying around but at the last market we went to for the store (early fall merchandise) skinnys were everywhere and some had side zippers and suspenders!!!

I like skinny on the right girl , but straight leg are much more flattering for the majority of body types then the skinnies are.

And yes they are great for tucking into boots and wearing with flats!

Congrats on the new baby AND being back to your regular size in only 4 months! Wow!

i think everyone is coming off skinnies though - slowly but surely :)
i work for a "celebrity" brand - i'm not in sales; i'm a merch for the jr and contemp line - but i like to sit in on the sales meetings to see what the buyers' comments are.

i probably wouldn't buy another pair, but i already have a couple of pairs (earnest sewn) and i've worn out the butt almost completely on one pair.  i love them in the winter for tucking into boots.  for my figure though, boycut and straight leg look a lot better.

i think they're everywhere now, but i don't think that they're super trendy.  like mini skirts, i think designers love them because they show off models' beautiful long legs.  I know all the skinny-mini hipsters around these parts have been, and will continue, wearing them. I think right now is a good time for the jean because every silhouette is in style.

With all the empire waists and blousy tops for the spring, I think that slimmer bottoms are necessary to balance it all out. And the nice thing is that if the tapered, skin tight "skinny pants" frighten you, you can always wear straight leg styles.

I LOVE my dark washed Levis 505s (straight legged). They worked great for the winter tucked into boots and great in the summer with heels or flats under blousier tops.

If they look great on you, can they ever be out of style?

I just wanted to say congratulations on the baby!  I remember us back in the luckys day about five years ago.  How time flies!  And super congrats on getting back to your size so fast!
By the way, as far as skinnies, I have the Seven Roxy jeans in NYD - they're $149 but worth it in my opinion as far as fit.  If I recall correctly, we're about the same size, and you have thin legs like me.  These ones were the only ones that were fitted enough - most of the express ones (except for one ankle zip pair) were too big on me.  HTH!
