Can the puppy stay with a friend for two weeks or can you at least put him in doggy daycare on the weekends if you can't do that?
If it were me, I'd probably have a friend watch him or board the dog. I hate moving, so I would hate having the stress of trying to hide a dog on top of that.
If there have been people that have had dogs there before, I would tell her about your puppy. Either truthfully or half-truthfully. Like you said, saying youre watching the dog. I think as long as the dog hasnt ruined anything in the apartment it should be fine. I think thats one reason why places wont allow pets, so they dont have to repair anything. If worse comes to worse, I would do what Escrime suggested and have someone watch the dog, if thats possible.
how about this: call the landlord and say - "we had agreed to take care of my friend's puppy for 2 weeks and she's counting on us, is this going to be a problem?"
if she's cool w/it, you're set, and if she's not - i'd prob ask one of your parents to look after him.

Ditto. I think this sounds like a great idea.
