If I do wear something by the designer/brand it is usually not from the current season. I'm always thinking they'll think I ran and bought said item just for the interview.
i'd probably try to incorporate a piece from that designer/brand if i had one or could get one easily (without spending too much). that said, i dont think it's absolutely necessary, but like kitty said, you should try to get a feel for that brand's "look" and dress accordingly
i think wearing the brand could run the risk of trying too hard. I think its more important to look brand appropriate. it depends on the designer of course, but fashion is notoriously snobby and wearing the brand could be presumptuous- like they need to please you both as a customer and as a potential job candidate. Its more important that you look like you'd wear the clothes and are very excited by the brand. Of course- it all depends on the interviewer/brand! I wouldnt look down on it, but i don't prefer it.
This opinion is coming from someone who has never interviewed a designer or even been close to it - but I don't think I'd do it. I'd try to dress with the general feel of the brand, like previous posters said, but wearing something actually made by the designer/brand would seem like it was trying too hard.

No. I'd dress in a similar style though. If you ever watched that show with Tommy Hilfiger, he was totally put off that the one guy only wore his clothes. It made him think the guy was not creative enough to put something together himself, plus it made him look like a suck up.

Well, I would definately try to get in at least one piece from that designer/brand, but agree with everyone else that said it's ok to just get the vibe of that designer's/brand's style. You have amazing style so I'm sure you will have no problem impressing the interviewer!
thanks for the input. it was a tough choice b/c i had two interviews with different designers, one i had stuff by, and one i didn't. i ended up not wearing anything by the designers and going with creative business casual. i'll keep you posted of my progress, and keep your fingers crossed for me b/c i totally need a summer job.
