i think a kitten heel would be a happy medium if you really don't want to go for heels. i like the steve madden pair, i don't think they're too crazy at all, esp w/your dress (though i havent seen them IRL, maybe the gold/silver contrast is more apparent than in that pic)! even though i love a nice pair of heels i wore kitten heels to my prom (short date =P) and they were comfy but beautiful. i'm not loving the idea of flats w/the dress.

i still think you should do a little heel at least.  I also don't really like flats w/that particular dress, though i do like them w/long dresses sometimes.  If you did flats, i'd think it should be a strappy sandal- maybe one that ties- the all leather ones are too heavy looking.
but at my prom we just kicked all our shoes off, in which case- just buy the ones that look the best and dont worry too much about comfort.

Cute dress! I think silver is really the only color shoe that would look right..that being said, I think flats are great, but not for prom......I would try to find something in between...that way you look put together but can actually walk at the end of the night ;) Maybe a silver kitten heel......

these are pricey...but will give you an idea...

Even I, the flats wearer, would not wear closed toe flats with a dress.  These are good:

At my one and only prom my senior year (only three years ago) I wore silver ballet flats and was super thrilled with the plan. I had my grandmother hem my dress so that it skimmed the floor. I was comfy and never ever regretted it, however i had a black and white ball gown and went very classic. That is a sexy dress it might just call for heels, but I wouldn't think flats would be wierd at all. Most of the girls ended up taking off their shoes, but I looked fine all night. So I say your call. PS my flats were just rocket dog silver ballet flats, round toe, and they worked fine.

Steve Madden 'Devyn' Sandal I think these would work since they have a small heel. I wouldn't wear flats though. HTH!

Personally, I despise flats for evening. I think for ONE night you can live with the discomfort of heels (more like 4-6 hours for a prom) and plus you won't be on your feet dancing ALL night, probably just 10 minutes at a time. Unless you are extremely tall, or your date is the same height as you, I would go for some moderate heels, like 3 inches. Focus your attention on finding some well made, structured leather ones (rather than poorly made strappy ones). I have worn flats that were so uncomfortable as well as 4" heels that have been very comfortable. Its all about finding a good style for your foot and a good, wellmade shoe.

Ok so I think flats are out then. The only problem is that my date is 1 inch shorter then me which is my main reason for considering flats. But I think I might just look for some kitten heels or up to a 2 inch.
Thanks girls for your input!!

I agree, flats would NOT do this gorg dress ANY justice. Go w/a kitten heel, I also think these would work:

Good luck!!!
