Ok, the story is, I won a coat at $300 on e-bay, it was described as BNWT, and she also had a return policy if I was unhappy with it. I just had to return it in the condition I received it in.
The coat came, the tags were not on, but I wasn't initially concerned about that. The coat did not fit right, so I e-mailed her the same day and told her. She said to return it in the condition it came in. I sent her an e-mail thanking her and saying that I was shipping it out the next day, and I had put the tag in the same pocket it came in.
Now, she is refusing the return and saying that she sent it with the tags attached. The tags were DEFINITELY not attached to the coat at all.
Obviously, I am pissed because she is basically calling me a liar.
I had already sent the coat back to her, and she refused the shipment, and it got sent back to me. I promptly sent it back, e-mailing her that I sent it back and that she should keep it until the dispute is resolved.
I have reported a dispute to e-Bay and PayPal, as well as my credit card company, saying the product was not as described (BNWT). She has replied to my PayPal claim, stating the same thing about the tags being attached when she shipped it, and that she will be sending the coat back to me. I'm not going to pay for it to be shipped back a third time (at $15 per shipping. at this point, I have already paid $45 in shipping fees).
So I have escalated the claim with PayPal, stating that it seems the seller and I aren't going to come to an amicable solution.
So it basically boils down to a she said/she said thing.
Any advice on anything else I can do? For people who use e-Bay a lot, how does it seem this dispute will end?
The $300 loss would suck, but I would have kept the coat if I had been the one to remove the tag. I am very unhappy and pissed because she is calling me a liar.
