Okay so I'm trying to break out of the "skinny jean only" thing. I have a pair of the boyfriend wide leg trousers from Gap that I am stumped about. I am tall and thin, similar to the models in the ad so how come they look great and I can't manage this???
When I put a blousy top with the pants I look like I'm swimming in material, it seems like the top has to be fitted or I look ridiculous. I tried the tank and LS shirt thing but then I feel like walking ad for Gap. They really are cute on, the pic is horrible but I hate to think they are so limited to tank/T and flip flops for me. When I try to dress them up with anything but flips I feel like it's not "right". I'm not a sneaker person, my flats are either driving mocs or ballet flats. Maybe I just need new shoes? maybe I'm expecting these to be more versatile?
I feel like I have no imagination, how do/would you guys wear these? The material is a nice polished cotton but they do get the rumpled look quickly if it helps.
I have 2 pairs of those pants. I wear them all the time. My favorite way to wear them is with a cami and cropped cardi. For work I've worn them with a sweater vest over a cami for a slightly slouchy look. The only think I try and stay away from is something too bulky on top, because I prefer the waist definition like HB was talking about.
As for shoes, I wear my DV wedges (very small heel) or flats, pretty much any kind, although my favorite is a pair of red ballet flats.
In my wardrobe, they're very versatile. I wear them with practically anything I'd wear a skirt with (same mentality - more defined waist with fuller bottom).
LoMisha, what wrap cardigan? i am looking for one right now
