Since I now live within walking distance of school and work I might actually have to spend time out in the rain (ahem...even with my umbrella, pants soaked up to my mid-thighs today!). I'm gonna cave and buy a pair of cute patterned wellies. Oh woe is me. I'm not terribly concerned with price, even though I would prefer to pay less, duh. As you can tell, I'm looking for something bright and printed and it doesn't really matter much to me about them matching whatever outfit I have on. Which do you like? Which, when passing a girl on the street wearing them, would make you want to be friends with that girl? smile

PS: How on earth do you actually wear a wellie? I'm an 8, do I get an 8? Socks? What if I'm wearing trouser socks for work? Just throw on an extra pair of gym socks? Are they supposed to be tight? Crap, so much to learn.

I don't know too much about rain boots, but of the Target pairs I like the cherry print the best. I think the whale print on the J. Crew pair is cute too!

The whales and the purple polka dots are my favorites. Now I want a pair! But I'm confused as to when one actually wears them. If it's raining, most days, all I have to do is go outside to get in my car, drive to work, and then walk from the parking lot to the building, which is like 50 feet. Is that enough to necessitate buying a pair of wellies?

I don't think you need them unless you want them. I only see them on campus and when people are at the park or something - i.e. sometime when it's rainy enough to need them and casual enough to wear them. It doesn't sound like you've had rain troubles so you probably don't

I'm a 7 or 7 1/2 and I bought an 8 in my wellies. I wanted them to be big enough to slip on and off somewhat easily. Also, I wanted to be able to tuck the pants in. I wear mine to work when it's wet or snowy and change shoes when I get there. I also always wear socks. Any kind, really.

I personally would not spend that much on Wellies, but I just happen to like the cherry ones best, and the purple polka dot ones next best.  I do not like the rainbow stripe.

The black pair are my favorite, but I don't know how I would feel about spending $60 on an item that you will not get a ton of use out of. My second choice are the Target cherry ones. They are TOO CUTE!!

I love the whales...but have you checked a J.Crew outlet? The one I was in about 2 wks ago had them at 40% off!

I think wellies are a good thing to invest in... you may not wear them everyday, but I love mine when it's pouring down rain!

Thanks girls! The overwhelming choice was the whales. biggrin Good thing, cause that's what I was leaning towards. I'm gonna send one of my sister's over to the JCrew Outlet at home to check for me. For 65 bucks I was hesitant, but 40% off would be a no-brainer.
