if you go up a band size, you have to go down a cup size. So if the cups on your 38C fit, you should try a 40B. If that's too tight, try a 42A.

I'd recommend a bra fitting. I was fitted about a year ago and it blew my mind how horrifically wrong I was about the bra size I'd been wearing for years. Plus, even if you're right, they can reccoment bras or styles that might work best with any problems you're having.
