What time of day do you work out for optimal energy?

As early as possible. I take my son to school, eat breakfast  and try to get to the gym between 830-1030.

I only seem to have time at night, but I think working out in the morning would give you the most energy - I guess it depends on what you do, though.

for me afternoon or early evening.  I don't have enough energy until I've eaten at least two meals.

While in college, I always worked out in the late afternoon ( 4 -6 pm), but since entering the world of work, husband, housework, etc. I have found that it's easier for me to get up around 4:45 and go to the gym.  That way I have my exercise done for the day.  And for some reason, I want to eat healthier the rest of the day.

I prefer to get my daily walk around the park done before 9am and my weight training done after dinner, around 7pm. I like to break it up; it makes me more prone to eating better throughout the day, like alagirl.

I like going between 9 and 10pm as its after I have unwinded from work and all of my food has been digested. It also helps me sleep better at night.

I work out during my lunch break.  I like getting a quick workout in and getting it done with.  My problem is I can never get up early enough (I already wake up at 6 am to get to work) and don't get home until 6 pm--by the time I've had dinner, let it digest, run errands, unwind, it's time for bed!

I work out at 5 in the morning, every morning except Sunday and have found this to get my day started so much better than when I used to work out in the evenings.

I used to love going to the gym around 10:30am. However with the project I'm on now I go around 9pm at night.  I actually find my energy level is pretty high still and it helps me unwind and relax before bed.

The big thing I've noticed is just to wait long enough after eating a meal that I don't make myself sick at the gym...but not to wait so long that I feel weak or hungry when I get there.
