A Modest Proposal
Crash dieting. Painful waxing. Tedious full-body sunblock application.Getting yourself swimsuit ready can be such a drag.No longer: The hottest suits on the beach this year leave everything to the imagination. WholesomeWear, a line of swimwear for the modest beachgoer, offers three kick-ass styles that highlight the face, rather than the body ensuring all eyes are on you.The knee-length, short-sleeve designs truly blow the lid off conventional notions of sexiness. The Culotte style with elasticized waist gives you shape without clinging; the Slimming Swimmer creates that sleek killer-whale silhouette youve been coveting.Best of all, theres no need to worry about that extra 50 pounds of winter weight, disfiguring skin condition, or nagging hirsutism. WholesomeWear has you covered.Completely.Available online at wholesomewear.com.
Give me a break. This particular advertisement makes me want to block DC from my email box forever. We've talked about this so-called "wholesomewear" on ST before, so I'm sure some of you are familiar with it. Can you believe a site that claims to be "[t]he ultimate insiders guide to whats hot, new, and undiscovered" sent this out? Bad move, DC, bad move.
Do you think its a joke? I mean this part doesnt seem like the best advertisment: the Slimming Swimmer creates that sleek killer-whale silhouette youve been coveting.Best of all, theres no need to worry about that extra 50 pounds of winter weight, disfiguring skin condition, or nagging hirsutism.
Still, it is strange of them to use a clothing site that has religious connections -- strange and not cool -- they wouldn't do this with a burka, would they?

I saw this, too! It MUST be a joke. Who on earth would take this seriously? "Styles that highlight the face, rather than the body"? Um, excuse me, but what else is the point of going to the beach?
It's not a joke. I saw this website like 3 years ago. Hey you know, it might be nice to see the person that really shouldn't be seen in a swimsuit wear one of these and spare us all from going blind.

I dont think the website is a joke, but the fact that the DC girls are recommending it.
DC isn't a joke, and those bathing suits are real, but I think this particular post is definitely a joke. No one would advertising a "killer whale physique" :)

I do remember when that website was being passed around here. It is a legitimate company, but I have to hope Daily Candy is playing an early April Fools joke. That is the only explanation!
I don't know what to think. It's probably an April Fools joke, but a bad one. I don't know--people wear those suits mostly because of religious reasons and it seems cruel to poke fun at it.
