So this was totally a filler episode (seriously, what was the point of paulo and nikki), but it was still really good. The whole "buried alive" thing was a great twist. I screamed when I saw Nikki open her eyes in the grave. Do you think they are dead?? I don't know, because remember what Locke said about things not staying buried on the island...foreshadowing?
Also, I noticed something a little off with the timeline. When Juliet and Ben were in the hatch watching Jack, they said they needed the plane to be moved over their hatch. But if Jack is in the hatch, that means Boone had already fallen from the plane and died since they didn't blow it open until after he was dead. So unless the others lifted the plane back into the tree and then wanted it back on the ground again, what gives??

Worst episode EVER. I felt like they were just replaying everything that's happened in lost and put some new characters in the scenes. Plus..the whole buried alive thing!? How cliche and dumb is that?
I actually kind of liked it. It had a definite Twilight Zone feel to it, which I loved. I can't say I liked it in the grand scheme of Lost storylines or anything, but as a stand alone, it was pretty cool.
Ugh! WTF was that??? I mean, if they're going to make me stay up until 11, it better be good and last night's was fine and all, but it was totally pointless. I felt like it just served as a way of killing off Nikki and Paulo, but I don't know why they needed a whole episode of that. Unless they don't stay dead, which would be lame, or unless they planted some sort of Easter egg in that episode, I totally don't understand its point.
Generally not a fan of this episode at all. It seemed pretty random and pointless to me. And the whole buried alive thing makes my skin crawl. I had disturbing dreams last night because of that damn episode. But, because I'm a masochist, I must rewatch it.
Ok, so first of all it irritated me that this couple "discovered" the hatch, but never said anything to anyone. WTH? I mean if you were stranded on an island and stumbled on a man hole cover that had tv's inside you think that might be worth mentioning.
And then Palo sees ben and juliette spying on the hatch, and again says nothing? HUH???
Wasnt sure that episode made alot of realistic sense ...
I finally watched the episode tonight. It was okay, I was pretty entertained. But, in the overall scheme, I could have done without. Honestly, there are about 13 other characters I'd rather have more info on, why bother with these two?
i actually loved this episode. i'm boggled by how they put paolo & nikki into the original crash scene tho - i know that pilot ep cost $1m, so they definitely didnt reshoot it!
the part i found most hard to believe is the ongoing "who are you" joke between sawyer/nikki. w/his personality, he'd be all over her from day 1. :)

Actually, I think they did reshoot it. I heard a radio interview with the actor who plays Artz (or whatever the hell his name is) and he was talking about how they still had parts of plane on the beach and how crazy it was to reshoot those scenes.
I got a kick out of Sawyer's 'who are you' jokes, too. I love Sawyer.
did anyone else think nikki's hand was going to come up out of the grave at the end? Maybe it was just the way they shot it, but I was totally waiting for it!

I was listening to this week's Lostcast (www.lostcasts.com if anyone's interested) and they said that at one point they saw Vincent digging up the grave. They seem to think that Nikki will come back.
Anyway, the Lostcasts are really cool--you can subscribe through iTunes and they read through all the Lost blogs and forums and talk about different theories and references in the show. They pick up on a lot of stuff that I miss.

According to the Internet Movie Database (www.imdb.com), Nikki is on the cast list for 4 more episodes, so she might not be dead. Paulo, however, isn't listed on the cast list beyond this past episode, so I think that he has most likely bit it.
On a completely different note, Rose and Bernard aren't listed at all this season on the cast list, so we probably won't be seeing them at all! That sucks. I liked their story. Oh, and neither are Walt and Michael. Talk about leaving us hanging.
