anyone familiar with ROXY brand?
Permalink Closed

I found a skirt on Ebay that I like by a brand called ROXY. I'm slightly confused, though - does anyone have experience with this brand, specifically the sizing? The skirt in question is labeled as a size 3 on the auction. The seller gave waist measurements, and it says that a size 3 means a 34" waist. I measured the waistband of a skirt I love, and on that skirt it's about 33". But that skirt is a size 6. I've never bought anything in a size 3...do you think this is horrific vanity sizing, or am I just confusing myself? Even though I know sizing varies between brands, I'm having a hard time believing anything could be vanity sized that much, which makes me nervous to buy a skirt labeled sz 3 even though it seems the measurements are the same.

I bought a skirt from Roxy last year, and even though I went with the size I usually buy in juniors (I didn't have time to try it on in the store), it was big when I tried it on at home, and I had go down a size.

Here's what I think it could be: the skirt you have probably runs in sizes 0, 2, 4, 6 etc. I know from experience that Roxy runs in sizes 0, 1, 2, 3. So, with that logic, a 3 and a 6 should be the same size. You know what I mean?

Actually, I think Juniors sizes are only odd numbers - 3, 5, 7, etc..

Roxy is junior sizing. It's a surfer brand. I'd have to say that it is possible to get a 3 in the skirt, but I feel that since you're a 6, you're more likely a 7 or 9 in junior sizing. Of course, Roxy could be running bigger than the actual size. Hth somewhat!

Junior sizing is 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 etc.

I think it depends on where the skirt sits and what style it is.  I think flowy A-lime skirts are more forgiving. I tried on a Roxy skirt before at TJ Maxx and I fit into a 5. (I'm normally a size 4).

hmmmm....I'm thinking it's not worth the risk of buying it only to find that I can't fit into it after all. Ugh. My search for the perfect eyelet skirt continues...

I think Roxy runs a bit large...IIRC the sizing was juniors, but I wear a 5/7 depending on where I want the skirt to sit. I wouldn't worry about the # on the tag though.

Sometimes things are ridiculously inconsistent...you can't let the number on the tag worry you too much. I'm normally a 6 and my Marimekko skirt is a 0 and the last dress I bought at H&M is a 12 (!).

I love Roxy...great quality at their price point. They always make such great summery skirts.

I have a Roxy bathing suit and I had to size up on the bottom and it felt TTS on top.  I thought the bottom of the suit ran a bit small, but I don't know if their skirts are the same way.
