so....i have a few shoes in various shopping carts:
(but in black)
my problem is that I'm trying to fill some holes in my summer shoe wardrobe and make sure i have comfy (but cute) shoes for travel - i will be spending 2-3 weeks in europe this june. and i plan to do a lot of walking. currently i have a pair of chocolate brown, orange, and multi-stripe espadrilles. i also have these:
it's a bad pic - they are really very cute - but they are a bit heavy for summer. the fabric is a velvet and brocade.
i need black, and would love a pair of red ones too. green is fairly practical for me because i wear a lot of it (or colors that will coordinate with it) but i don't know just how many green shoes i really "need". i love the mustardy jcrew ones, and they'd probably work with a lot. and the brown satin ann roth ones are just so pretty that i can hardly resist them, though they're not as necessary - or practical - as the other options. but they might just cover my greens *and* browns in one shoe...
what do you think? which ones do you like the best?

ditto to dangergirls pick- also like them in yellow. while i like the ones that wrap around ankle in theory, ankle straps tend to make my legs look chunky, so i try to avoid.

Ditto to everything, although I think that the yellow JCrew shoes would be more versatile in the long run than the green. You can wear yellow with reds and blues and those are two colors that are hard to mix with green, IMO.
I also agree w/ lynnie in that ankle tie shoes tend to make people look stumpy. Plus, I don't think they stay tied well at all, and if you're going to do some walking in Europe, which I'd assume you are, then you don't want to be stopping every hundred yards to re-tie.
I personally thought the same thing about the tie-straps, until I bought my first pair of espadrilles in Europe last summer. They never come untied, and I actually have no issues with the "stumpy ankle" syndrome. I actually worry more about how big my feet will look.
I am leaning toward these two:
and I still need a pair of black ones. I'm not truly loving any of the black ones I previously posted.
I think I might still have to have the ann roths as well.

I would get one pair of the J Crew ones (I have the mustard ones in my cart too!), and a black pair, perhaps the aerosoles ones. I have 2 pairs of aerosoles sandals and I always take them with me on vacation because they are comfy and cute.
