need a travel outfit

So here's my dilemma, when I go on vacation in a few months I have to travel quite a distance: home to Philadelphia~in transit for 9 hours, then Philly to Belize~ in transit for about 6 hours. I need something to wear on the plane.

I really need to be comfortable. And warm because I always freeze my ass off on planes. But I have a weird issue with travelling where I like to look "proper" (this is an old school idea ingrained in me from my mother who always wears a skirt suit when travelling), so I'm not crazy about the idea of sweats/yoga pants, I'd feel like I was in pajamas. Also I'm not crazy about yoga pants in general (I have issues with needing structure around my bum) I don't know if I'll be comfortable enough in jeans sitting for so long.

So its a tall order, but any ideas on what I can wear?

*no yoga pants (although I *may* have to suck it up and just get over it)
*no skirts or dresses (too cold)
*nothing that will be wrinkly after sitting for 9 hours
*something warm and comfortable for sitting
*something that will be cool when I get off in Belize
*look cute

Hey, how's it goin?...

I like to wear cotton when traveling, but like to look put together too, so I think I know where you are coming from.  Jeans seem too confining so I like cotton pants, like trousers that can be worn with slip ons (for ease through security).  Also, I like to do layers so I can put on or take off as I get hot/cool.  You can wear light socks so you don't have to have your bare feet on the yucky airport floor, then you can take off the socks for Belize, or stash a cute pair of thongs in your carry-on to wear.

I went with bright colors because it's spring now, and also because you are going to Belize (how exciting!) Here's a few examples:

A floaty s/s or sleaveless top that can be layered over a turtle-neck, l/s shirt, or other l/s cotton top, and then layered again with a light cropped jacket or cropped sweater on top for the traveling portion, and then as your only piece for Belize:

This would be a nice under layer piece:

Here are some cute top layer pieces that you could get some use out of for cooler nights in Brazil:

This one would look nice layered over the white top (with a navy, light blue, or yellow l/s top underneath):

This green sweater would look nice worn over the yellow top (worn over a white t-neck or l/s shirt for the plane) or with the white top (worn over a l/s blue/aqua top to kind of play off the colors of the ocean):

I find that a sturdy cotton trouser doesn't wrinkle too much, even after sitting for long periods.  I like the idea of these pants because they look like classic khakis, but they have drawstrings at the waist and legs.  You can always tighten the legs and pull them up to your knees and throw on a pair of simple, but pretty thong with a nice base (like a metallic with a leather foot bed, nothing too beachy)  for your travel to the hotel/wherever your going when you get off the plane.

Here are some cute slip ons:

I actually wore these last time I flew to the Caribbean:

This is what I'll be wearing: (note...haven't actually purchased any of this yet, waiting to move so shipping doesn't get screwed up)

That's the planned outfit- but it's three months out still so who knows? The idea will be the same even if the exact items aren't. The pants are a definite though- mainly because I know I can wear them while there as well. I'll probably throw a pair of cute socks in my bag just in case, or wear my slip-on Vans.
