Do you all like boat shoes? Are they "de la mode" or w/e that is ( ), are they in style-ish?

I know, they are sort of preppy, but very versatile, I suppose, and look comfy...

Do you all recommend any?  I liked these...



or maybe something more....boat-like-ish....

The first ones are alright, but the second pair looks like a grandma or men's shoe.

These are cute boat shoes, less specific purpose looking.

My Dad wears boat shoes yet he doesn't have a boat, that turns me off. I never wear anything my father wears.

i like them, i like the way they could contrast w/an otherwise girly outfit.  i also like that they are built w/a specific functionality in mind, as opposed to something that's just supposed to look good.

Everyone in my town wears these:

Highschool and college age girls who wear them with khaki shorts and sorority t-shirts.  They alternate between these and crocs in their sorority/college colors.  They get on my nerves because it is all I see, but I have seen them look cute the way lynnie described--with girlier outfits.  My sister wears them with jeans and an antique lacy top and that looks pretty cute.

I'm not really a fan.  I know a lot of college age girls in the South wear them a lot in the summer, but I've never really liked the look.  They're fine for being on a boat and whatnot, but other than that, they tend to look sloppy.
