Has anyone ever done this before? I'm putting together a team or girlfriends and we're going to do the avon 2 day walk in Chicago. Each team member is responsible for raising $1800. I'm afraid of how difficult this is going to be because once you sign up you pretty much owe them the money. So I was wondering if anyone had ever done this before and if you had any fundraising suggestions besides sending out letters to everyone I know. Also if any other Chicago girls would like to join us we'd love to have you! I'll be walking in honor of my Aunt who is currently being treated for breast cancer. Any suggestions you have are welcome!

I did the walk in 2005. The 1800 was rough, but I had many peeps including the lovely gils from stylethread to help. Go to your gyno, docs, etc. Oh and definetly ask people if their company does a match.
TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN!
I never gave an update when I finshed in '05 because I was embarrassed. I did not complete the whole 39 miles. I did the 26 which is the first day. Once I got back to the site where we sleep and stuff I got very sick. I was throwing up and my ankle was the size of a golf ball.I ended up with an IV in my arm and they had to give me stuff for nausea (sp?). My BF finally came and got me from Randall's Island (NYC) I was greatful because they were going to take me to the hospital in the middle of the nite if I didn't stop barfing. I hate hospitals. Ok I don't want to discourage you so let me stop with my story. Alll in all it was a great experience. I loved every minute of it. There were peeps 3x my age walking like crazy! I've never seen that many women pumped up for such a great cause! If I get the ok from my doc I'll be participating in 2007. Good luck!
