Birthday Help
Permalink Closed

Since most you know I usually go overboard when it comes to my boyfriend.  So I need your help on what to get him for his birthday that is coming up in a two weeks.  I really need this to be Extra Special.  He does so much for me on a day to day basis since I am so busy with school right now.  For starters he drives me to and from school, makes me lunch and dinner every day, and puts up with the fact that I am studying every single minute of the day and can't really do much for him.   He even made my recent birthday really special by giving me beautiful flowers, a very romantic dinner at a nice restaurant, and the best part, my first Rachel Pally Dress (the short caftan in this beautiful purplish blue color).

He will be away for his birthday but will be back a few days after.  Ive already decided that when he comes back Im going to have a ton of helium balloons in the apt.  But beyond that im clueless.  Im thinking maybe a nice dinner and then a nice present.  I was thinking maybe clothes because he doesnt buy any ever and could really use some.  But i have no clue what to buy and my budget is pretty small :(  since im saving up for europe or africa in december.

Im also still trying to make a scrapbook of all his awards/news articles/photos, so i hope to give him that too.  Where he comes from they dont celebrate birthdays and i get the feeling he's never had a special one.

Any ideas PPPPlease?

I think that your ideas are great and you do not need to go any further. The balloons, dinner, and scrapbook are plenty. He is aware that you do not have a lot of money and if he is as great as you say he is, (which I do not doubt) he will be more touched by the scrapbook than he would be some expensive gift. It is a lovely and thoughtful idea and that will be the most special thing you can give him.  Much more special than a new shirt or jeans.  Scrapbooking can actually be very costly anyway and you need to be aware of what you are spending. Do not go overboard!

I agree, what you have planned is wonderful.

If your scrapbook is smaller, you should make the paper!  It's really easy and completely satisfying (and probably cheaper than buying expensive scrapbooking paper).
