Just had to share. My son hit a JCPenney ad on Friday. If you think I am proud, you should meet his grandparents. It's him in the middle...he's 2 1/2 now and such the wild child, as evident in the photo.

How did you get into print advertising? does it take a lot of time? does the pay make it worthwhile? Just curious how it all works.
When he was a baby, I sent a photo to a local agency that I knew had a good reputation in my part of the country. They liked his picture and signed us up, there are no costs, and the agency takes 20% of earnings. The majority of his bookings are print jobs, he's only had one commercial "audition" in two years.
This doesn't take a lot of time, but I do need to be available to take him to bookings on short notice (I am a stay at home mom), otherwise they will book just someone else. With little ones, they book several at a time in case somebody isn't in the mood to sit still for pictures. The hourly rate is decent, I would say it's worthwhile for the purpose of exposure if he wants to continue this in his grade school years and for adding a little extra money to an investment account. If you want more info, you can PM me.
