additional wedding dress ettiquite question

I apologize for asking so many wedding dress questions!

So the WDW wedding I'm going to has a wedding at 9 AM with the reception immediately following at 10 AM. However, there is a dessert party at 8PM which sounds fabulous and all, but the dress I chose is a decidedly day dress.

Should I wear a different dress to the dessert party because it's so much later? There's a lot of lag time in between the reception and the dessert party.

I'm thinking I'd have to wear a cocktail dress. I was thinking it might be OK to bring out the Betsey Johnson I bought for $25 years ago for it or my Karen Millen black/white polkadot dress.

If either of these aren't appropriate, I'd love suggestions on what I could wear.

loving the betsy johnson on you, you look amazing in it!!

It also seems totally appropriate for a dessert/cocktail type after party.

i like either dress, but what about that dvf from awhile ago with the cute red/black/white pattern? can't remember if you ended up keeping it, but it looked great on you!

I think you could wear the same dress. I would expect that a great deal of the people will wear the same dress to the wedding and the reception. But if you want to change, I think I'd go with the polka dot one. The Betsey Johnson looks really great on you, but with the propriety concerns with the wedding dress (since you'll be meeting the family for the first time and all), I think the BJ is a bit more questionable because it looks much lower cut. I think it looks great on you - but will you feel comfortable wearing that around parents and family you just met? I just ask because you've mentioned the family in every other post, it's obviously big in your mind!

I would change for the cocktail party. Definitely. And I love them both on you, but I think the betsy johnson is more wedding...

I'd change.  Go with the Betsy Johnson.

I'd definitely change. Why not? It's not often you have reason to wear two different dresses (and accessories) in one day. I'd bet a lot of people will change, with such a long time between the two events. Have fun!

I'd change.  There's a big difference between a very morning wedding and a very evening dessert party.

I love both the dresses you've chosen, and the BJ is definitely my favorite, but it is somewhat low cut.  The polka dot one is very cute, though, and a bit more demure.

I'd change as well. The BJ looks amazing on you! I'd definitely wear that one. And I think it's okay to show off a little neck/cleavage at an evening party. Tres chic.
