Ok I'm looking for something to go on this odd shaped wall behind the chairs. The wall opens to the banisters where you can look down to the main floor:

History: I did not want the chairs set up like this, but due to where the entertainment center had to go, it was the best option. I am including more photos of the area so you get a feel for the size. I am adding a console table under the wall with the clocks. There are french doors that open to the office next to the wall woth the clocks. The other doors are bedrooms. I am looking for something with orange-y, rusty burgundy tones, whith perhaps some browns and greens mixed in. I have not idea about size or layout for maybe several smaller wall decorations. Please help me, I am at a loss.

eta: the long table between the chairs is not staying I have a small chunky square one on order.

You could do a larger piece of art or mirror on that wall, but I think I like the idea of doing several smaller pieces.  For example, since your room has brown tones, you could take a lot of pictures of your girls and have them done in sepia tones.  Then get some cheapo frames with mats at Target and display them somewhat randomly on that wall.  You could also mix in some framed drawings of theirs or other mementos.

Another option would be to put in some small shelves--the kind that are meant to hold photos and knick-knacks and not much else.  You could do all sorts of things with that.  My mom has something like that in the hallway back home and I love it.  She's collected sketches of places we've gone on vacation and had those framed as well as lot of other little things--hand-drawn cards, shadow portraits, etc.

I love the idea NCshopper suggested about hanging up pics of the girls in that area

I can see how that's a difficult wall for you to know what to do with!  I agree w/ NCShopper about doing several small pieces -- if you just put one large piece of art there, it might look like it doesn't "fit," b/c the wall is an unusual shape.  You can carefully lay out a collection of shelves or small works of art in that space, however, without it looking strange.
