Shayla - It's my daughter's name. I know I won't be able to find her name in those pre-personalized items that stores sell! BTW, it's her 1st birthday today!!!

I met a girl at some orientation thing the first weekend before I started college and I've remembered her name ever since because I think it's soooo pretty: Perea.

btw, happy birthday Shayla!

How would you pronounce Perea?  Like Pariah?

I tend toward known-but-long-underused, myself:

Georgia
Cora
Meredith
Evangeline
Cecelia
Nina
Josephine
Bianca
Gillian
Imogen
Hazel
Ramona
Dierdre
Petra

Did you guys know how many people are naming their girls Naveah (Heaven spelled back wards ... get it?!) these days?  That should totally be illegal ....

I'm with Elle; I like old-fashioned names that have fallen out of favor as of late but still impart a classy vibe:

Ava (or Eve)
Constance
Bridget
Jane
Margot
Beatrice

I totally agree with Elle and Eurodaisy on the classic yet under-used-today names.

My faves are:
Stella
Eva
Grace

Other than those, I love Randall for a girl's name.  That's my dad's name and I'm going to name my first girl after him.

My neighbor named her daughter Grenelei - pronounced Greenlee.  Yes, from All My Children.  It makes me crazy every time I write her name.

With the exception of Avery I like girls' names that are more classic than trendy.  I love Avery, but was informed by my FIL that it's an old tractor brand
Sophia
Grace
Amelia
Helena or Helene
Carrine
Eve, but my nephew is named Adam.  It'd be weird to have Adam & Eve in the same family

i think it depends on the last name.  since my bf's last name is pretty ethnic (ends in -ski), i am kinda leaning towards more ethnic names.  i've always like madison, alexis, and sabrina, but i would never go with any of those if i end up with my bf's last name.

I am dead set on naming my first daughter Chloe.  I've loved that name since I was a little girl.  I also really like Hannah.

Naomi
Chloe
Kennedy

I love the name Sophia (my daughter's), but it's become way more popular in recent years.  She was born in Italy, so we wanted to give her an Italian name.  My Italian neighbor thought it must be a family name, he said it was a very old fashioned name over there.  After she was a little older and we ran into more American Sophia's, I told him that it was popular with Americans and he and his wife were shocked!
