but is banana using bigger models than they normally do, are are their spring clothes just not very flattering? Some of it looks nice enough, but the models look "normal" size....if they aren't really nomral sized, I think the clothes will make *me* look like a whale.

I see what you mean but I don't think it's the models. I think the problem is twofold: 1) BR doesn't do slouchy and casual very well, which is what a lot of the new stuff seems to be, and 2) I think the real problem is the photography. The angles are unflattering and very catalog. A pic of a woman's breasts/upper arms/stomach at close range is usually not very flattering, no matter who the model is. It's definitely poor art direction on their site (if that's the right phrase).

I haven't been on the site recently. What pictures are you talking about?

Like this dress which on the size 0 model makes her look like a size 8 on me who really is a size 8 does that mean I'm going to look like a size 16?

I dont think that model looks like a size 8.. but she does look like an AA cup.

I agree with blubirdie, it looks likebad photography/bad fits. Maybe they chose not to tailor the clothes to the models or something this time along. The dresses seem a bit odd, like too voluminous in all the wrong places.

When I worked at BR, women were constantly having trouble fitting into the clothes because they ran so big. A woman would be a 4 normally but an XS would be baggy and unflattering. Some of the stuff looks really cute though, were you thinking of an outfit in particular?

They do have some rather unflattering pieces right now. This sweater, in particular, caught my attention:

I think the sweater looks pretty unflattering in the first pic. Maybe it's because that model happens to have bigger boobs - tops like these obviously call for a really willowy body type.

I'm noticing it a lot of the dresses and blouses. I was thinking it could be the whole volume thing, but some of their arms look big too. could just be an unflattering cut to the sleeve though. Either way, I'll pass on most of it.

I don't really think it's just BR.  I'm not a big fan of the big, blousy tops that are in stores right now because I am a size 8 and they make me look huge.

I see what your talking about now!  When you said banana I thought you meant the fruit!  Medels=models

Yeah that one shirt looks really bad, especially with the tan color.  I've seen mumu's that are more flattering.

Plus the chick in the first pic is wearing a terrible strapless bra - or so it seems. See? Bad attention to detail and these pics are really, really unflattering. It's not something I'd expect to see on the BR website.

That said, I'm extremely opposed to voluminous tops. My top is way smaller than my bottom so I look huge when I wear them. I have no doubt that these models are a size 0, so it's probably an indication of how unflattering the pieces are.
