No appetite

I have completely lost my appetite. This is NOT normal for me and I can't think of another time where I've felt this way (not counting being sick or going through hard times emotionally). I can't figure out what the trigger is, but it's worrying me. I can't bring myself to eat anything..I tried to force myself to eat some lunch and after three bites, I felt totally disgusted.

Should I go to the doctor? Wait it out? What could possibly be causing this?

I get this way sometimes. I don't know what it is. Stress, being tired of the usual foods I eat, mild depression - a combo of this, etc. I also get grossed out really easy, so that sometimes does it for me. Like the other day, I was eating lunch at my desk and the woman on the other side of the cubicle wall from me made the most disgusting burp and it turned me off my food.

i would maybe wait it out another day or two. i'm sure this isn't your case, but sometimes i just get so annoyed with food choices and i don't want to eat anything. (ie, it's not exactly what i want..so i just don't eat anything instead of settling)

If you are not taking any vitamins, maybe you should consider doing that until you feel like eating again. Don't deprive your body of some essential nutrients. Since you are not feeling ill and don't know the cause, you should definitely go to the doctor if it doesn't go away within a day or two.

how long have you been feeling this way? Sometimes I get like this for a couple days, but it's nothing I ever worry about. If it's been more than that, I'd worry a bit.

 It's been about a week...

I get like this sometimes, too. Sometimes it lasts a few days, sometimes it lasts a week or so. I have no idea why it happens, but it usually passes. I'd wait a few more days and if you still feel this way, I'd call the doctor.

i sometimes get like this.  Is there anything that sounds good?  Sometimes I have no appetite, but if i think about it harder, i realize that filet mignon and garlic mashed potatos sound delicious.  But what i have in my fridge (alll of it) or what is easily available repulses me.  Ayeee.

I was trying to do that last night. My boyfriend was like, "Think of whatever sounds good and I'll go get it for you." and I couldn't think of anything!! Even my normal burrito-love-affair was not in me.

I think I'm gonna wait another week or so and then go to the doctor. This just isn't like me...

Allergies or bad cold recently?  Sometimes a loss of smell, due to allergies or a sinus infection can also lead to a loss of appetite.
