i need ideas for something for lucy to take to hand out to the other children at school on valentines day. we were told that if we wanted to send something that we would need to send 30 little treats or valentines cards. b/c i live overseas, i don't have access to v-day cards, so i'll have to do treats. what would be something easy to do? cookies in a little bag? candy of some sort (but i don't let lucy eat candy, hmm) any ideas? please help, i'm not good with this stuff at all!
I know it sucks living overseas for stuff like this. No access to the dollar store, Target, etc. You're in Egypt, right? Can you go to the market and see what little treats they have that you can bag up? Also, try this website www.familyfun.com I get the magazine, and they had some cute Valentine ideas. I can't find it now, but there were some neat homemade cards and little gifts.
What are you doing over there, if you don't mind me asking? I can't remember.
maybe a squeaky plastic bath toy that is red or a tiny thing of playdough or a box or single serving bag of gold fish or animal crackers with a cute saying attached to a red piece of paper like "swimming to my heart" or "happy valentines from all the animals" or something better than that
i would say hit the target $1 section b/c it is full of cute sesame street stuff and curious george stickers and coloring books and figures. but i know you don't have target. A heart cookie in a clear bag with a red bow and a little thing that says...."a heart from Lucy" might work.

Thanks girls for the great ideas! Cricket, I checked family fun (i'm familiar w/ the magazine and was planning to get a subs too, actually, do you like it). anyway, i got a couple of ideas there. i ended up making cookies by melting a hersheys kiss on top of a nilla wafer and then sticking an m&m on top. then i put them in clear plastic cellophane bags and folded over cardstock to close the bag--i decorated the cardstock with a little "love" stamp, added some paper hearts, and inked the edges. it turned out pretty cute, but took abt 5 hrs to make them all! if i ever get better at posting pictures online all post some here.
cricket--yes i am in cairo, egypt. my husband is with the state dept. iirc, you were in italy, right? where were you and how did you like it? any plans to go back? rome is my ideal tour. we applied for it, but it's highly unlikely that will get it this time.
