Anna Nicole Smith Is Dead, Her Lawyer Says

Reality star Anna Nicole Smith is dead, her lawyer told FOX News Thursday.

Smith was found unresponsive Thursday in her Hard Rock Hotel room in Hollywood, Fla., FOX affiliate WSVN is reporting.

Emergency responders performed CPR at the scene and a breathing apparatus was inserted in her throat, hotel officials told TMZ.com. Smith was immediately transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood just after 2 p.m. EST.

Local streets were closed off to rush Smith to the hospital, three miles away. Paramedics were seen pumping her chest as she was taken from the hotel.

Smith, 39, was hospitalized for a week last November with pneumonia. She was photographed at a boxing match at the Hard Rock Hotel last month.

In a lawsuit filed last Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Smith and TrimSpa Inc. were sued in a class-action lawsuit alleging their marketing of a weight-loss pill is false or misleading.

Smith, a former Playboy Playmate, has endorsed TrimSpa and is a spokeswoman.

I just read this on CNN.  That's so sad.  First her son, now her.  I really hope she didn't take her own life.  She seemed to take her son's death so hard.  Her poor baby

Suicide was my first thought too --- with her son dying and the money/legal issues pending. I am sure that the upcoming paternity test will show her attorney/husband is NOT the father of her baby either. What a sad life...

Wow!  For some reason, I find this particularly shocking.  She seemed to have such a tragic life.

My first thought wasn't suicide...rather "this doesn't look goof for TrimSpa."  She's been having a hard time lately, but I couldn't see her leaving her baby like that.

I thought the same thing about TrimSpa but it was after "Is she pulling an Elvis and faking her own death."

So sad - and shocking, too. Somehow I immediately assumed it was a suicide. She must have been very depressed after her son died. I feel so sorry for her baby.

Why did the first thing to pop in my mind after hearing this was that it probably was "accidental"?

Here's what I'm thinking:
- Howard K. Stern has been by her side forever trying to help her win the inheritance from her marriage
- He's the only person awake in the room when her son dies?
- She has a baby and he's claiming it's his - does not want to submit DNA for a test but puts his name on the birth certificate
- Now that she's dead, her sole heir is Howard K. Stern's daughter (whom he'll have custody of).  She will stand to inheirit whatever was rightfully Anna's and and royalties for shows, ads, trim spa , etc.

Now all sorts of things could resemble a heart attack, drugs, etc. right?  Why does something seem fishy to me?  I don't doubt he had feelings for her.  It just seems to all too coincidental...

I couldn't believe it when I heard the news today. How awful. It was a complete shock. I just feel sad for her and her baby. My first thought wasn't suicide. I think drugs are a possibility.

ITA.  Drugs were my first thought too.  But now that ViViDogWear mentions it, the whole thing does seem awfully fishy.

Now that she's not there to stand in the way of her baby's paternity test will they go through with the test?  And now that she's not in the picture and Larry Birkhead doesn't stand to really get any money off of her, I wonder if he even cares if the baby is his or not?  He just seemed to be only concerned about the money.

What a sad situation.
