handbag question....

this year will be my golden birthday and i'm going to ask for a handbag to start my collection. i would like to get one that i'll be able to carry with (almost) everything, year-round. if you gals could give me some suggestions, that would be great!
here's a few things to narrow it down:
1. size: small to medium
2. no logos
3. prefer leather but open to other types
4. in the $300 to $500 range, unless it's very special
5. no more than $800


i've been thinking of the chloe paddington, however i have no clue how much they are. DH has been wanting to buy me a bag for awhile now but i haven't seen one that i can't live without. if anyone has time, post your favorites! thank you!!!

I don't really have a response to the bag but I just wanted you to know that I hadn't heard of  a Golden Birthday so I looked it up.  Very cool.  I love the idea, too bad mine was when I was 9


One's golden birthday, also called a champagne birthday, is the day when the age someone turns is the same as the day in the month he was born. (e.g. someone turning 20 on January 20th celebrates his golden birthday).

Do you want something that can be worn on the shoulder, or does that not matter?

well, i guess the chloe is out, then.
either way, on or off the shoulder is fine, i've carried both types of bags.

im looking at the rebecca minkoff morning after bag myself.  it comes in alot of colors and it fits your price range...maybe you can consider that....plus...theres a dailycandy coupon code it gets you 25% off, so maybe you can use the excess money on another present!

Heh. At first I thought the "golden birthday" meant that you were 50!

Unfortunately, my golden birthday occurred when I was three years old. Maybe I've been treating myself ever since to make up for it?   :)

Yes, those are fake.


I think buying bags on eBay is pretty risky.  Unless you are very knowledgable about the particular bag and the seller has very good feedback.  And if a price looks to good to be true, then it isn't real 99% of the time.


And small_fry, I don't mind you posting my pics.
