And I don't care what anyone else says, but the classic quilted Chanel bags look like old lady bags to me, even when celebs are wearing them.  Some of the newer styles are okay.

I really like them both.  I love how LV has so many different lines and so much variety - though my true love is still the red epi alma!  Chanel has a great collection as well, but I've never owed one, so I can't comment on the quality.  I would hope to someday have a happy little family of bags which includes both lines

Definitely Chanel. Everywhere you go, tons of people have LV (or fake LV), but a Chanel handbag really sticks out in a crowd.

If I had to pick it would be chanel.

I personally am not really a fan of either though. I love unusual bags and both of them seem more like status symbols than unique bags.

ditto.  I'm okay with styles in both brands- red alma epi for example, but would probably pick something else entirely.  I don't know what happened- i went to saks today and suddenly, all their bags looked really cheap to me.  Nothing stood out or seemed worth $1500.

I don't own either, but I'm going to say Chanel only because I am soooo sick of seeing those damn fake LV's. I roll my eyes every time I see one. I think logos all over bags is ugly. Just a status thing. It's like most of the people who tote them around want to scream, "I'm rich!" without actually doing so. I'm pretty sure at least 9 out of 10 people are walking around with a fake one. I'd rather have something that is obviously not expensive than have an imposter.

at this point in my life, neither... i don't see the value/attractiveness yet, and it's not a practical fit in my wardrobe.  with time and a heftier income, i'm more than certain that's going to change, though.

I prefer LV  all though there are some styles I don't like (Multicolor forgot what they're called) there are many great choices.  I think that many LV bags etc. give that put together but simple luxurious look.  I know there are many people who genuinely hate LV but honestly I think there is a "I Hate LV" bandwagon and its getting quite annoying. Given there are a few chanels I like, in my opinion those chain strap shoulder bags look like they are for a really old grandma sorry. Plus I see just as many fake chanels as I do LV in new york. As for the comment above if those huge C"S on the shoes and bags dont scream I rich I dont know what does! I really didnt want to sound so opinionated just my personal taste
