Looks great!  Good job!

Can you talk to me about how hard (or easy) it was to paint the trim/doorframe?  It was stained before, right?  And you painted it white?  Did you have to sand it first?  I really, really want this done in my bedroom (hate the wood trim in there!).

Incredible!  I love the double vanities and the tiling on the floor.

I also commend you for making such a great investment in your home.  All your hard work and $$ now will equal even more $$ in the future if you ever decide to sell.

The trim is actually brand new, so we painted it before we installed it.  Eventually we'll be doing the trim throughout the house, because right now it's a mishmash of original dark 60's trim and the awful medium orangey oak we replaced.

There's actually a 'liquid sander' product out that you can paint on existing wood trim to dull the shine and allow paint to adhere.  Then you'd use a high-adhesion primer made for glossy surfaces and then do another 2-3 coats of paint.  The liquid sander stuff is not so good for pregnant ladies, but it's a great job for husbands !  Then you'd also not have to deal with all the dust that comes with real sanding.

Would you consider replacing the trim?  We used pre-primed MDF for the baseboards and trim on windows and doors, which is $4-5 per 8ft length.  We only used real wood on the inside section of the window sill/surround, in case of moisture.  It might end up being cheaper to replace than to buy all the products to refinish, if you have the tools and the time.

Oh, don't worry, I don't plan on doing.  I'd either have hubby do it or pay someone to do it.  I guess I'd have to price it out either way.  We have 3 windows and 3 doors (one door only needs half done).  Anyway, it's unfortunately not very high on the list of priorities, it's just something I want to do eventually.  Thanks for the info!  And again, the bathroom looks great!

What a change!

I want to change all my trim and doors to white too.  I know wood is wood but I just don't like oak and white looks crisp and clean and looks good with all paint colors.

Awesome! It reminds me of the "Sell this house" show on HGTV (I think that's what it's called)...
Your bathroom is gorgeous!!  I like the floor, the hardware, the mirrors, the double sink, the wall color, the counters, all of it!

Wow!  You two seriously did a great job.  It looks so much more welcoming and homey than it did before.  It looked quite sterile and cold in there before, but now it looks quite relaxing.  Good job!
