ISO cool silver necklace for everyday wear

I'm looking for something to suggest to the boy to give me for VDay. Probably around a $50 price limit (at my request). I'd like something simple and distinct in either silver or white gold.

I really dig FashionFreak's Jib & Genoa so something unique like this:

Any ideas?

I like this one from Peggy Li but do you think it's too trendy to last over the next couple of years?

And of course I found this one at Tiffanys that I seriously need. But it's $225. Why was I even looking there?

Okay, the picture's not showing up but here's the link:

It's the Frank Gehry Orchid. Beautiful.

i don't think the peggy li one is particularly trendy... but if you don't LOVE it now, you might get sick of it eventually.

I think you're probably safe with the bird necklace... it's more stylized and modern-looking, as contrasted with the vintagey birds you see on a lot of jewelry now.

Oh, and if you sign up for the Peggy Li newsletter, you get a code for 15% off.  There might also be one in the board's toolbox... she has promos going all the time...

 I agree...and I really like the necklace.

I like Kimberly Baker's stuff, too.  Especially this, which I would like in silver:

I have nothing useful to add about necklaces, but how weird..my name is Kimberly Baker!!! And I am not a jewelry designer. Weird - I just had to respond.

I know it's still above your price range but Might Flirt just announced a 20% off code (WINTER) and they have Jib & Genoa necklaces in sterling.

They also carry some smallthings necklaces which I love

normally $66 (I tried to make the pictures smaller so they look a bit wonky)

And as others have pointed out there are sooo many nice and reasonably-priced things on Etsy

$29-30 esdesigns, I think you can request the last one in silver

Annabella designs

 budgie

just the pendant and it's $55, naniopu

From the Met Museum store

(inspired by Robert Indiana's Hebrew "love" sculpture)  (that one's $55)
