Tags on the side seams of shirts
Permalink Closed

Does anyone have any great solutions for removing those tags on the side seams of shirts? For some reason every shirt I buy now has a tag there. I don't just mean the security tags (although those are part of the problem), but regular tags too. What was wrong with putting them on the back of the neck? Even cutting them doesn't help, because you can't completely get rid of them, and I feel like I walk around half the time with a welt on my left side. I have tried removing them by the stitching, but ruined a few items that way. Am I the only one this annoys? Why are retailers doing this?

No advice but this really annoys me too!

Edited because I thought you were talking about price tags.

I hate those ones that BR, GAP, and Old Navy started using (the security tag ones). The material is so thick and even when you try to cut it off the shirt never lays flat. Drives me nuts.

I do have a solution - TAG TAMERS!  They are made by Fashion Tape and you can buy them online - HollywoodFashiontape.com.

One you use fashion tape, you can never go back.  It works on sliding bra straps, cleavage, and even the thin straps hold up shoe strap that tend to slide down - if you buy the variety pack.  The tag tamers are big enough to cover a large tag, for tops that you don't want to rip out the tag.

I think Nordstrom carries it - many boutiques have it too.

I dont know, but I hate it! Whatever they use is so thick and makes the shirts stick out and look rediculous.

Thanks! I just looked it up...it looks promising and they promise it to be non-scratchy, though I wonder if adding another layer is really a good idea! Have you tried them personally?

I just got a tee from Target.  It's super cute on, but it feels like they attached a dagger to the side of the shirt.  I cut it off, but it still hurts!

uggh I have a pair of jeans from Old Navy that had a tag on the side. I cut it off as best I could, but the other day was the first time I wore them for a whole day and by the time I got home, my thigh was completely red and tender from where the tag had been rubbing me all day
