Here are the JCrew Pants.  They were a total of $81ish.  With that price in mind, should I keep this yellow color, get them in navy, or not get either one?  Feel free to be totally honest.  I teach freshmen and sophomores--it takes alot to hurt my feelings

The color isn't what's bothering me...it's the fit. They seem slightly large in the buttocks region. Do they fit okay in the waist or is it possible to go down a size? Also...do you wear heels or flats at work? Can we get a pic with the shoes you would normally wear? I think they might look much better with heels....they would flow/drape better.

I agree with the other girls - they look a size too big.

I'd return and get the navy in a size smaller.  They're such a cute style!

I think that the color is too bright for pants. I think that type of color would work better on a skirt, shirt or sweater.   Once you wear the pants, you won't want to wear them for quite a while because they're so recognizable.   I would get the navy only if you really love the style. Navy is a classic color and you could make more outfits with it for the spring, summer and fall. I personally would return because for $80 I could go to the Gap or Banana outlet and get two to three pairs of nice pants, but I'm just really frugal...

I am sending them back.  I checked on altering them and it will just be too much of a pain to do.  Since it looks like nautical is in for spring, there will probably be other cheaper versions.  I just thought that lace up back was so cute though.
