I have had this ongoing love affair with YSL dada pumps... At one time, there were knock-offs by vince camuto, and I had ordered them from nordstrom, but they yanked them (maybe too close of a knock off?)
Anyway - here they are, in my size on ebay and coming up in an hour... should I do it? I feel in a way that they are a collector's piece, and I have thought up some outfits (wear with a ball gown in March, with celery valentino suit for work, jeans, dress pants, etc.) Metallics are still going strong for spring/summer and possibly into fall...
ugh - $380 after all is said and done... should I do it? I need some confirmation, please!

Well, what can you do when a shoe is haunting you but cave in? I say go for it as long as they are the perfect pair of that shoe - right size, right color, etc.
see, that's the thing - are they the right color... I was a little more partial to the pewter and black... initially, when they first came out I liked the gold - ugh! I don't know! maybe I should hold out for pewter or black?

i think they are "you", and i think you need to own them, that being said, pewter would be my first choice.
then gold (it shows the detail better than the black).

shopgirl82 - I would love to find the pewter. I'm worried it's impossible though. These shoes have been sold out and when they do show up, it's a crap shoot to find the right size... I'm also supposed to be on a shopping ban, but these shoes showing up in my size is unpredictable...

I've done this many times - obsess over a pair of shoes in one color, find them on sale in another color, buy them, love them to death but still obsess over the original color I wanted. That being said, I think you should buy them - they are a work of art. Then maybe keep your eyes peeled for the pewter and black at a good price!
I'm sorry for confusing you - my new shopping mantra is "wasn't meant to be" meaning if I can't find that definitive shoe, bag, etc. in the color, size, price and condition I want, then it's not happening.

richard tyler kapelle...not the same, but a similar feel...
maybe I should just go for those, erin. I had seen them before, but didn't like the heel height - they may be more practical though. plus, I like that I can order them from zappos and return them if I don't like them... can't beat the price in comparison!
