that I got an internship/job. I went to interview today and they decided to take me in. It's a flooring store but they do a lot of other aspects of interior design. Pretty much I'll be tagging along with the owner and going out to job sites, taking notes on what he says, closing the deal, learning as much as I can pretty much. They will also be teaching me the different computer software programs that they use and are having me do some "schooling" via the internet. They said that if all goes well throughout my internship they hope that I will stick around to learn more and because they will have invested so much time and money into me. I start tomorrow at 9am. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed right now. Wish me luck.
**Update**
I went in on Wednesday and realized that I didn't like it. They were grooming me to be a floor salesperson! I do not want to be in floor sales. The girls that work there completely ignored me the whole day - even after I said hello and kept smiling. Everyone else was really nice, I was tagging along when the owner and some other older man would go do measurements at people's homes. Those were the highest points of the day. I called them up and told them that I appreciated the opportunity that they gave me but that it just wasn't for me. That's not all though....
Yesterday evening I received a call from a lady that owns a design firm. She's basically taking me in as an intern. I'll be doing all the small yet time consuming jobs for everyone there. There are a total of 3 designers and a seamstress (they do draperies too). Get this - they all talked to me at this place! I start on Tuesday morning. Now I'm excited - this is the kind of internship that I was looking for.
