Banana Republic fitted shirt
Permalink Closed

I want to buy about three fitted shirts similar to this banana republic one, but I'm looking to spend about 35.00 per shirt, rather than 58.00 per shirt. Does anyone know where I can get a similar shirt for less? I've seen tons of shirts like this of course, but i really want to get one with a fitted shape and if possible the slight sheen on the fabric like the banana republic one. I would like a white one, and I'm open to any other colors.

Old Navy has had them in the past, I didn't think that the fit or fabric was as nice as BR but they did have the sateeny sheen.  For what it's worth I went on a kick to find perfect fitted shirts, shirts that wouldn't billow out at the waist when I tucked them into pants and wouldn't be too long if I wanted to wear them un-tucked and I ended up at BR.  H&M sometimes has ok dress shirts too.  But for classic pieces that wear well I thought it worth it to spend the $$.

Good luck!

Do you have outlets nearby?  I bought most of mine at J. Crew for about $30 each.

Why not just buy two of the BR ones instead of 3 of a cheaper one, that way you get what you really want.

Do you have a BR nearby, they had several at my store on sale recently for about $25-$35

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.  I do have a BR outlet about 30 minutes away.  I'll try there.  Also I  need to remember quality over quantity.  As FashionPrincess said, it would be better to buy two  or even one quality shirt, than three okay, possibly ill fitting shirts.

if you know your size, I'd just watch for them on ebay.

You really can't beat how nice the BR ones are in real life. I would check BR outlet but sometimes they just have the off colors like orange. Sometimes gap outlet has cute shirts with sheen to them but they are usually short sleeve.

I think this is really good advice.

I love these shirts.  I echo the eBay suggestion.  A few months ago I was desperately looking for a particular color in XS and it was sold out all around my area.  I went on eBay and not only was it available, it was going for about half the price.  HTH!

dry clean only for me.  this includes the gap ones I pick up as well.  I find when i wash shirts like this they lose the sheen.
