Here's my bedroom.  I would love for it to be brown but I just don't know. Or...should just stick with a tan/biegey color?  All of the comfortors that I have will look fine with either color.  My furniture is light so I was thinking it would look better with brown, but I don't know.   Also... my ceiling is really high on two wall.  How in the world do I paint that?

Here's a few pics of the ceiling on those two walls

First of all, don't paint the ceiling. That's just too much work and it will look fine white.

If you move out, do you have to re-paint everything back to white? If so, then I say no to the brown. You'll be kicking yourself when you're trying to move out and you have to paint three coats of white in your bedroom alone just to cover the brown.

Any shade of color (other than white) is going to warm up your space. I think beige would be fine ... and it's safe. Wait until you have your own home to put all that work in and really make it your own.

I would do a medium mocha brown color.  Oh, and I would just paint up to the ceiling.  Happy painting!

I agree w/ FP, maybe a brown, but maybe 2 shades lighter.  Maybe you could stop painting at 8.5 feet or so like this room:

That way you dont have to worry about painting all the way up to the ceiling.

No beige! The furniture and drapes are already a pinkish beige color (maybe  not in person, but in the picture.) For that reason I'm leaning toward a cooler color, such as blue, maybe a bit richer and darker than this but a similar color:

With a soft blue you can bring in darker brown accents, and get more bang.

And I agree about leaving the ceiling as is.
