I want to paint the dinning area of my kitchen.  I need to leave the kitchen that ugly white color since it would be too much work to do the entire area.  I need color suggestions please. I'm at a loss. (FYI- I rent so hopefully nothing too crazy).

This is a shot from the kitchen.  Please notice the crazy floor. I would be painting the side with the patterned floor.

Here's my table.

How about a beige or that orange-y color that's in the floor?

I know it would be a lot of work to paint the entire space, but I'm concerned it would look funny to leave the kitchen white and paint the dining room, since the two spaces really seem to flow into each other.

I think a soft golden yellow would look pretty. And I agree, I think it's worth the extra work to go ahead and paint the little bit that's in the kitchen. Post pics when you finish, please

What about a brick red?  I would leave the casings surrounding the floors white.  At our old apt we had carpet we had carpet in our dining area and we bought a bamboo area rug that was easy to sweep and clean if we dropped any food on it.  It looked great, it brought an asian feel to the room.

I read warm neutral colors stimulate appetite and energizes people which makes it a comfortable social space.

Brick red is a really good call, but since you rent it may be too aggressive. I'd pick up a color from the floor pattern, maybe a neutral medium taupe. I bet that would make the funky floor more of a feature than a liability. And do carry the color into the kitchen.

My first thought was red.
