Hair powder?
Permalink Closed

I'm looking for that powder you can put in your hair between washings so it doesn't get oily.  Where can I find it?  I'd like to wash my hair less often especially so I wouldn't have to wake up extra early in the morning.

Bumble & Bumble has hair powder.  You can find a salon that carries it by visiting their website.

Also, your hair is blonde, right?  you can use just regular baby powder too- which is what i use when my hair is blonde.  it does the same thing!

B&B has different shades which is why its so popular.  i just popped over to their website to check for you and there is a black.

go under "styling" then products then styling and then specialty and you'll find them located there.

I know Christine uses the Bumble & Bumble hair powder and really loves it.  Here's a review she posted a while back:  http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=44784&p=3&topicID=7079691

aveda also makes one that I use.  Its pretty good.  You put it in the day you wash your hair and it keeps the next day too.

I bought the B&B one and hate it. total waste of money. It makes my hair crispy and crunchy, like too much hair spray. You also cannot touch your hair at all or the color comes off on your palms, worse is getting caught in the rain with it in your hair.

i used to like the hair powder when it was in a little jar that i put it in my hair, but i don't like it as a spray. i really like the aveda stuff.

that said, i use a spray "dry shampoo" which is not actually a dry shampoo at all, but it really degreases my hair enough to get an extra day of wear out of it. it's called batiste, but i don't know where you can get it in the us (i got mine at the pro beauty supply, but i've looked online and can't find it) but i think this pssst spray is similar, and equally cheap. at drugstore.com

After hearing alot about this product in magazines, I finally spent the $6 for it.  Its a "dry shampoo".  You basically spray it on roots, wait a couple of minutes, then brush into a normal style.  I find that it absorbs oil and lets me go an extra day without washing.  It is definately worth a try, and alot cheaper (and not as messy) as the B&B sprays.

i love psssssssssst!

i also love oscar blandi pronto shampoo! it smells sooo good like sweet lemon candy! :)
even though it's more expensive i have been using this over psssst. it's very finely milled and the scent really helps my greasy hair!

i use stila's hair refresher regularly and i love it.  you squeeze the bottle upright to create these "powder poofs" (as opposed to dumping the powder on your hair directly) and it totally absorbs the oil.  plus, it leaves a nice scent (it's available in creme bouquet or jade blossom, and both are lovely).  it's a bit pricey at $28, but it lasts forever.
